UAE ranks among top 4 countries for global traffic safety
Ministry reviews key projects to enhance national security and well-being
ABU DHABI – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has ranked among the world’s top four countries for traffic safety per 100,000 people, marking a major achievement that reflects the success of national policies and integrated road safety efforts.
The milestone was reviewed during a meeting of the Ministry of Interior’s Happiness and Positivity Council, chaired by Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi.
The Council addressed a broad agenda covering ongoing projects and initiatives to enhance government performance, strengthen readiness across all sectors, and further improve key national indicators. Special emphasis was placed on boosting security, enhancing road safety, promoting community awareness, and advancing overall well-being.
According to the Ministry, these initiatives embody the vision of the UAE’s leadership, ensuring a safe, secure and positive environment for all. The focus remains on creating policies and programmes that support quality of life and safeguard residents and visitors alike.
Who attended the meeting?
The high-level meeting brought together senior leaders including Lt. General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai; Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior; Lt. General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; Major General Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoun Al Mehairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; and other senior officers and police chiefs from across the nation.
Their collective presence underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in ensuring road safety and strengthening public security across the UAE.
